| In early 2005, NICHEPUBS partnered with Bloomington, Illinois– based Original Smith Printing (OSP) to implement the next generation of electronic pre-press.
The results have far exceeded everyone's expectations.
Working together, the companies have successfully implemented a pair of enterprise-wide software systems that create a seamless electronic integration between the design firm and printer.
The first system, Synapse Prepare, enables NICHEPUBS to locally create true, press-ready Adobe Acrobat files that meet OSP's exact mechanical requirements.
The second system, Synapse InSite, creates secure connections to OSP's RAID servers and enables NICHEPUBS to immediately upload press-ready print projects to OSP's production queue.
By utilizing these two systems, OSP has reduced file preparation times by 70 - 85% and NICHEPUBS has reduced overall print production turn times by as much as 30%.
In addition, the two systems allow for a more flexible and accomodating workflow. This enables multiple users from remote locations to log into a common meeting area (using only a browser) and review, accept, edit, and/or reject the posted production proofs.
Overall, this partnership allows NICHEPUBS to continually exceed client expecations for speed, quality, and cost.
