The committee chair for a medical society needed to produce an upcoming issue of their journal on very short notice.
Regular production had been severely impacted by an unexpected need to find a new publisher and editor just weeks before the next issue was due out to members.
The chair needed a way to quickly produce an issue with the consistency of earlier issues (left, top) but without access to any previous production files.
NICHEPUBS provided this.
For consistency, NICHEPUBS built a new set of production files from scratch and exactly matched the outward appearance of the previous issue (left, middle).
NICHEPUBS then identified and matched every typeface that was previously used on interior pages. Relative pagination was also matched to insure a consistent "flow" of content.
To begin the process of redesign, NICHEPUBS introduced very subtle modifactions during production of the next two issues.
NICHEPUBS redesigned the cover for a more formal launch six months and two issues later (left, bottom).
Phasing in a redesign in this manner kept the regular publication on schedule, maintained an inter issue consistency, improved the intra issue style provided a cost-effective method of redesign over the course of three issues, and generated significant marketing buzz with the readers.
